Letters to the Editor

P.O. BOX 63, WAVERLEY 2024 N.S.W.

LOAN ON PURCHASE OF VISION BIBLE COLLEGE

I am prompted to write to you after having read your October newsletter which arrived yesterday. Your remarks regarding banks tickled my 'banker's sense of humour' and I can well imagine the indigestion that your proposition would have caused the normal ultra conservative banker.

Mr. B.W. Pickering, Riverwood, N.S.W., (Bank Manager)

Editor's note: In the newsletter, reference was made to the difficulty The Temple Trust experienced with applications to banks who didn't seem to know how to handle an application from a "faith" organisation that has no normal guaranteed source of income. Eventually, a church lending institution in Sydney provided the necessary loan, Subsequently, we received a letter from another "faith" style organisation that will remain anonymous, which appears below.

"I read with interest your October newsletter and particularly your reference to the purchase of "Hebron" the location of Vision Bible College — with a loan granted by a church lending institution in Sydney.... our college, has no direct connection with any specific church body or denomination. It is simply a Christian enterprise showing affiliation and loyalty to Jesus Christtand His Church. We are largely a "faith" organisation and have had the same experiences as you with banks and other lending institutions. I would very much like to receive the name and address of this church lending institution so that I may contact them and seek their assistance."

VISION MAGAZINE

Enclosed is subscription to 'Vision" magazine. May I say that I enjoyed the contents of the sample issue. I liked its handy size — but the small print is a problem for me and probably would be for any others past the "half-way" mark.

Mr. S. Brain, Keiraville, N.S.W.

CHARISMATIC MINISTERS' CONFERENCE

What a time of blessing and refreshing I had in Sydney. It was greatly needed, believe me. The teaching of the brothers, the fellowship, the sharing with you and others, helped me get my programme into perspective. I returned with renewed spiritual ferver to motivate the work here.

Pastor E. Watson, Gold Coast, Old.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHT

As secretary of the Illawarra Festival of Light, I wondered if it would be possible for you to publish^ all or part of the "Call to the Nation" made before some 35,000 people at Hyde Park on 10th October at the Muggeridge Rally. For this Call to the Nation to be effective it must reach the nation by every means and with divine help it could be a real challenge to our people.

Mr. S. Brain, Keiraville, N.S.W.

Editor's Note: Space doesn't permit this to be done but we commend the efforts of the Festival of Light to our readers and refer them to the Festival of Light office where copies of the Call to the Nation can be obtained and also to the article "Let There Be Light" by the Rev. Michael Harper (July/Aug. 1976 issue) on the need for such a Christian witness in society.
