Revival Fires in Brisbane,

EVANGELIST LESTER F. SUMRALL'S CAMPAIGN.

Lester F. Sumrall, Evangelist, in fellowship with the Assemblies of God in the U.S.A., and who is on world tour with Brother Howard Carter, our beloved British Chairman, commenced a soul-saving campaign in South Brisbane, on Tuesday, January 15th.

The "CANVAS TABERNACLE" was erected opposite the Melbourne Street Station, South Brisbane, and a season of rich blessing was experienced under our brother's evangelistic ministry. Souls were converted to Christ from the very first, until almost 30 had stepped over the line and yielded to Christ as Master, and Lord. Hallelujah! Our brother's earnest and fiery messages, unctionised by the old-time power, went home to sinful hearts as arrows tipped with fire, and it was blessed to see souls kneeling at the altar night after night, weeping their way through to salvation.

Some remarkable cases of conversion were recorded. Among these was that of one man so mightily convicted that he decided one night to burn down the Tabernacle and thus get it out of the way. Instead, he found himself out at the altar finding peace with God, and full salvation. Another man who was converted during the Campaign went up to work at Branch Creek, and was baptised there the following Sunday amid great rejoicing. A brother testified that he had met this man up in the North some time back when he was a hardened sinner, and that he met him again on his way to Branch Creek and he was talking all the way through about the wonderful change that had been wrought in his life. Hallelujah!

Space will net permit us to tell of other trophies of God*s redeeming grace; suffice it to say that on the last night we made an appeal .for those who had been converted during the campaign, and who were present that night, to stand. An immediate response was given, when fourteen rose to their feet. The same night three more knelt at the altar for salvation, and the previous night four had responded. To God be all glory.

The hand of the Lord was not only stretched forth in salvation, but also in healing the sick. Several testified to having received the healing touch of the Great .Physician. Thus we prove the truth of Hebrews 13: 8 in this our day: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever."

Brother Sumrall's campaign has now concluded, but praise God, the results are lasting. A larger marquee, 36 x 84, has been erected at the entrance to the Roma Street Railway Station, and Brother

Howard Carter's campaign is now in progress there. Let us pray that as the kingdom of darkness is invaded in the name of our Lord Jesus, we shall witness a mighty victory there to His glory and praise. Amen.
