The King is On His Way [poem]

Amy Yeomans

[9] Good News, vol. 17, no.2, Feb 1926

THE KING IS ON HIS WAY.

With a mighty shout will the Lord draw nigh,
For the King is on His way.
We'll rise to meet Him in the sky,
For the King is on His way.
What bliss Divine the saints will share,
As we meet the Saviour in the air.
Get ready now if you would be there,
For the King is on His way.

The Midnight Cry is pealing forth, That the King is on His way.
Oh, saints of God, extol His worth!
For the King is on His way.
Tell forth the tidings far and wide
That Jesus Christ, the Crucified,
For helpless sinners bled and died,
And that now He's on His way.

With girded thigh and burning lamp,
For the King is on His way,
Go forth to Him without the camp,
For the King is on His way.
Reproach and woe, and earthly loss,
With shout of Praise proclaim it dross;
Extol the triumph of the Cross.
For the King is on His way.

Oh, Hallelujah! Shout with me!
For the King is on His way.
Our Risen Christ we soon shall see,
For He now is on His way.
With shout of Praise He'll bear us home,
No more in exile will We roam,
The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come";
For the King is on His way. —Amy Yeomans.

A DROP IN THE BUCKET.

It is told of a certain man in a big city that every night he was in the habit of visiting a haunt where poor wretches were accustomed to seek a temporary shelter, and of providing at least one man with bed and breakfast. A friend undertook to argue with him about the uselessness of it, in the face of so much want and misery, adding, "It is only a drop in the bucket!" "That's all right," was the reply, "I'm just attending to my drop!"
